*ENGLISH TEXT BELOW*

Njezini najnoviji radovi uključuju Death by Landscape, koncert (2024.), Institute of Rest(s) (2023.–2025.) i it doesn’t go without saying (2026.). Njen rad je predstavljen na: MACRO, Rim; Tanzquartier, Beč; Kaaitheater, Bruxelles; far° festival, Nyon; Xing, Bologna; Biennale di Venezia, Venecija; Centar za suvremenu umjetnost, Vilnius; brut Wien; Volkskundemuseum, Beč; Wiener Festwochen, Beč; Wonderfruit festival, Tajland. Živi u Beču.

Podaci o pristupačnosti:

Program je besplatan. Održava se u prostorima do kojih vode stepenice, a zgrade nemaju lift. Radni jezik je engleski.

Program nastaje u suradnji Kurziva (nakladnika Kulturpunkta) i SPID-a.

Odmaraonice su se dosad održale u Laussaneu (La Manufacture (HES-SO), La Grange – UNIL), Bruxellesu (P.A.R.T.S.), Beču (Tanzquartier; Volkskundemuseum; ImpulsTanz), Berlinu (Tanzfabrik), Marseilleu (École des Beaux-Arts) i na Tajlandu (Wonderfruit Festival).

ENGLISH:

As part of the program Critical Dramaturgy: Pause, we invite all interested participants to apply for Restshop led by artist Alix Eynaudi.

The Restshop takes place over three afternoons. It begins on Thursday, April 23 at the Ribnjak Youth Center (4 – 8 PM), continues on Friday, April 23 in Ribnjak Park (5 – 7 PM), and concludes on Saturday, April 25 (2 – 6 pm) at Studio Ilica (Ilica 61).

About the format:

A Restshop is a format for research and practice initiated by Alix Eynaudi under the framework of Institute of Rest(s), following a line of inquiry present in Eynaudi’s earlier projects which tackled the relationship between poetry and dance.

The Restshop is open to everyone, regardless if they are dance practitioners or not.

In the Restshop, rest is treated as a choreographic operation – a critical pause within the regimes of production. The work suspends the reflex to perform, turning instead toward latency, indeterminacy, and the compositional potential of non-doing.

In the sessions tools and exercises are introduced – structured scores, collective reading protocols, micro-somatic attentions – designed to be reused, adapted, or discarded.

A mobile library is assembled for each iteration, books selected by the artist for the group. These texts act as scores, temporal markers, shared references, assistants of our writings. They are present to be used or ignored as needed.

The aim is not rest as withdrawal, but rest as a site of friction – what is being refused (the demand to produce, to be visible, to labor without end) and what is being engaged (the library as a living archive, the body’s own time, the inherited frameworks that shape artistic work, the possibility of stillness as a collective act).

The format does not offer a method for escape. What it offers instead is a space of collective study.

Application:

To apply, please send a short paragraph about yourself and reasons you’d like to join us. Send these via email titled “Restshop” to prijave.kurziv@gmail.com. The deadline for applications is April 22nd. Since the number of participants is limited, we encourage you to apply before the final deadline.

About the artist:

Alix Eynaudi dances, works, and writes between craft and chaos, embracing a (mostly) joyful mess. She never works alone; every event, research, or invitation is an alibi to spend time with accomplices—a mesh of friendships shimmering under the skin, a stirring of wonder-filled support. She specializes in choreographic hanging-out sessions. Her most recent works include Death by Landscape, a concert (2024), Institute of Rest(s) (2023-2025), and it doesn’t go witout saying (2026). Her work has been presented at: MACRO, Rome; Tanzquartier, Vienna; Kaaitheater, Brussels; far° festival, Nyon; Xing, Bologna; Biennale di Venezia, Venice; Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius; brut, Vienna; Volkskundemuseum, Vienna; Wiener Festwochen, Vienna, Wonderfruit festival, Thailand. She lives in Vienna.

The program is free of charge. It takes place in spaces that are accessible only via stairs, and the buildings do not have elevators. The working language is English.
