Ljubljanski arhiv videa i novomedijske umjetnosti Stanica DIVA organizira izložbu o slici tranzicije u video radovima pod nazivom Učinak blizine.

Pripremila: Matija Mrakovčić

Stanica DIVA (DIVA Station) kompendij je projekata ljubljanskog SCCA, koji teži ka istraživanju, dokumentiranju, arhiviranju, analizi, interpretaciji, prezentaciji, diseminaciji i promociji video i novomedijske umjetnosti putem dokumentarnih, arhivskih i kuriranih programa dostupnih online i otvorenih za daljnju suradnju. Stanica DIVA je partner u projektu GAMA (Gateway to Archives of Media Art), međunarodnoj internetskoj platformi koja okuplja osam europskih video i medijskih arhiva kako bi ih učinila vidljivijima i dostupnijima.

Izložba pod nazivom Učinak blizine (Proximity effect) predstavlja radove Zemire Alajbegović, Nevena Korde/Borghesije, Marka Peljhana, Saše Podgoršeka i Iztoka Kovača, Nataše Prosenc Stearns, te Mihe Vipotnika.

Program ljubljanskog Svijeta umjetnosti pratite ovdje.

U srpnju ove godine završio je jednoipolgodišnji međunarodni edukacijski program osposobljavanja mladih kustosa, kritičara i novinara iz područja suvremene umjetnosti i kulture World of Art, koji su u Ljubljani, Krakovu i Zagrebu zajednički provodili SCCA Ljubljana, Jagielonsko sveučilište u Krakovu i zagrebačka udruga Kurziv. Tijekom programa sudionici i mentori su proučavali metode i učenja suvremenih kustoskih praksi, umjetničke kritike, muzeoloških studija i novinarstva u kulturi. Kako bi stečena iskustva poslužila i široj publici, u zaključku projekta objavljene su dvije publikacije: stručni priručnik (Un)learning Together: Discourses, Moments and Conflicts that Make the World Bigger than the World of Art i zbornik postdiplomskog studija Jagelonskog sveučilišta Talking about Exhibition.

U priručniku (Un)learning Together: Discourses, Moments and Conflicts that Make the World Bigger than the World of Art objavljeni su eseji sudionika programa te stručni tekstovi mentora i predavača, koji su ilustrirani brojnim fotografijama i primjerima.

Zbornik Talking about Exhibition predstavlja postdiplomski program iz kustoskih studija pri Jagielonskom sveučilištu te donosi eseje poljskih stručnjaka Marie Hussakowske, Beatrice Jaschke, Wojciecha Szymańskog i Karoline Kolende te tekstove mentora i voditelja programa World of Art Andrzeja Szczerskog Curating and the importance of an artwork, Nore Sternfeld i Luise Ziaje What comes after the show? On post-representational curating te Petje Grafenauer Interview with Saša Nabergoj, We are interested in ways of working based on local needs.

Obje publikacije dostupne su za besplatno preuzimanje.

The Praise of Laziness is the title of the lecture given by Saša Nabergoj on May 7th at Post-graduate museological curatorial studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow in

SCCA – Ljubljana

In a series of lectures, Saša Nabergoj, head of the World of Art programme in the frame of SCCA – Ljubljana, is trying to defend the right to leisure in contemporary hyper-productive society. She examines the 18th century, when our obsession with work and productivity began. The capitalist economic system was formed in the Enlightenment, and within this system rational discourse on work and economy emerged. At the same time, however, an alternative discourse celebrating laziness was established. In this discourse lie the roots of resistance to participation in a social project based on the work ethic, and the beginning of scepticism about the belief that productivity and the production of goods are the ultimate goals in life. The generally accepted circle of supply and demand fuelling the consumer society of the 21st century is questioned with reference to artists such as Kazimir Malevich, Marcel Duchamp and Mladen Stilinović. Laziness is presented as an alternative which can turn the need for (multi)production into freedom for production.

Saša Nabergoj works as a curator, writer, editor and lecturer in the field of contemporary art. She studied art history at the University of Ljubljana. She is an assistant director at the SCCA, the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Ljubljana, which is a non-profit production, research and educational organisation. Its main objective is to produce, encourage and communicate innovative artistic and interpretative practices and to link them internationally.

Nora Sternfeld and Luisa Ziaja gave lecture entitled
What comes after the show?
On post-representational curating on Tuesday, April 19, at
SCCA Project Room, Metelkova 6, Ljub

SCCA – Ljubljana

From the 1990s onwards, there was a “reflexive turn” in exhibition theory, in which all the conditions of exhibiting and representing and the associated types of institutional logic have come into focus. Following those more or less thorough institutional critiques and analyses of the conditions of production, in recent years an advanced segment of the field has increasingly been raising the question of curatorial agency. Even presuming there is no external standpoint for criticism, they nevertheless asked the question “What is to be done?” and it underwent a variety of deconstructive turns. The lecture traced these deconstructive turns and related them to developments in the visual and performative arts of the last decades that have not only questioned the representational but thwarted and undercut its logic. In this light it asked what kind of shadows post-dramatic theatre and post-representational art have shed on the format of the exhibition in order to think the very act of the curatorial differently.

The lecture by Nora Sternfeld and Luisa Ziaja (ecm – educating / curating / managing – Master Program in Exhibition Theory and Practice, University of Applied Arts Vienna) is part of a partnership project World of Art (Models of training and collaboration in contemporary arts) co-funded by the European Leonardo da Vinci Programme.
